Glenn F. Rollings

Glenn F. Rollings, 89, of Robinson, formerly rural Flat Rock, IL, died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. He was born October 29, 1921 in Marshall, IL, the son of Elias Rollings and Belle Lindsay Rollings. He was a self-employed farmer and a member of the Flat Rock United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of WWII and served in Panama and in the Philippines. Glenn married Velma Minnick on October 29, 1943 and she preceded him in death on May 19, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers, Virgil and Robert Rollings; and 2 sisters, Florence Riddle and Alice Meek.He is survived by his 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Larry Branson, Flat Rock, Kathy and Jared Schanely, Waxhaw, NC, and Glenna Manship, Robinson; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Tim and Lisa Branson, David and Bobbi Jo Branson, Adelle Schanely, Philip and Karen Schanely, Brooke Manship and Blake and Colleen Manship; 6 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 18th at the Flat Rock United Methodist Church with Brother J. D. Branson and Pastor Sheila Ducommon officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 17th at the Flat Rock United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Flat Rock United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the church.
