Gina York

Gina Lynn York, 55, of Centralia, IL, passed away on April 11, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital in Centralia. Though she will be deeply missed, it brings comfort to know that she is no longer sick and has been reunited with her loving mother.

Born on January 23, 1970, in Clinton, IN, Gina was the daughter of David York & Jo Etta (Plew) York. She grew up in Hutsonville, IL, and spent over 30 years as a resident of the Warren G. Murray Developmental Center in Centralia, where she was known for her gentle spirit and the deep love she held for her family.

Gina shared a special bond with her mother—one that could be seen in the way her eyes would light up anytime they were together. That love remained the heart of who she was.

She is survived by her father, David York; her brother, Ronald York; her niece, Emilee & Philip Garner; and by her great-nephew and niece, Dwaine Garner and Norah Garner.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, April 25th, at the Hutsonville Cemetery with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is assisting with arrangements.
