Fumiyo Cox, 88, of Robinson, passed away at 8:32 a.m. on Sunday, September 16, 2018 in the comfort of her home. She was born August 20, 1930 in a small town in Japan. She loved to garden, cook, made a variety of crafts, and enjoyed going to garage sales. Most days, you would find her in her garden or in the kitchen. She would always make sure you were fed when you were at her home. She is survived by 2 sisters, Miyoko (Japan) and Mamoe (Japan); by 5 children and a step-daughter, Helena Rowan (Robinson, IL), Amel Cox, (Morton, IL), Tony Cox (New Albany, IN), Andy Cox (Germany), Doris Wiesike (Robinson, IL) and Gloria Jean Cox (Bush, LA); by 6 grandchildren, Lorie Evans-Saunders (Robinson, IL), Clarence Evans (Decker, IN), Jason Cox (CA), Michelle Cox (New Albany, IN), Jessica Stevens (Jackson, TN), and Andre Cox (Philippines); and by 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest A. Cox in 1981 and by her daughter, Patricia "Patty" Cox in 2008. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20th at the Hardinville Cemetery. David Youngblood will officiate the service. Following the graveside, Fumi’s family will accept family and friends at the Hardinville Community Center. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Lawrence Crawford Association for Exceptional Citizens, with envelopes available at the funeral home and cemetery.
