Floyd Terrell

August 28, 1933 — March 8, 2019

Floyd Terrell, 85, of Robinson, IL, died at 1:15 a.m. on Friday, March 8, 2019 at Burnsides Community Health Center in Marshall, IL. He was born on August 28, 1933 in Spencer, IN, the son of Floyd Terrell & Lorena (Edwards) Terrell, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Nina Taylor on May 3, 1982 and she preceded him in death on July 7, 1995. He is also preceded in death by his son Terry Terrell; and by his brothers, Thomas Terrell, Ronald Terrell, William Terrell, and Clifford “Joe” Terrell. He is survived by his sons & daughters-in-law, Kenny & Nancy Terrell (Bloomington, IN), Larry & Pam Terrell (Bloomfield, IN) and Matthew Terrell (Bloomington, IN); by 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, (with another on the way); by his sisters, Deloris Freeman (Spencer, IN) and Phyllis Nash (Flat Rock, IL); by his brother & sister-in-law, Fred & Sue Terrell (Martinsville, IN); by his nephew, Keith Nash (Palestine, IL); as well as several nieces and nephews. Over the course of his life, Floyd did a little bit of everything: he was a stone mill worker, a truck driver, he farmed, and was a tinkerer extraordinaire! He would eventually retire from Victor-Dana shortly after his wife Nina died in 1995. Outside of work, Floyd placed much of his energy in riding horses. While he was passionate about all-things equestrian, he loved music as well. A lifelong guitar player, few things brought him more joy than strumming on his six-string, the notable exception being his beloved Chicago Cubs. Floyd Terrell, by all accounts, lived life his way. Though he could be headstrong, he pursued excellence in all things, and this will forever be his legacy. A time of visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Services will immediately follow and be held at 1:00 p.m. with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Burial will be held in the Robinson New Cemetery. In honor of his love of animals, (especially horses and dogs), memorials may be made to the "Crawford County Humane Society", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
