Floyd Louis Franklin, 73, of Fort White, FL, formerly of Robinson, IL, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008 at the Haven Hospice, Lake City, FL. He was born January 13, 1935 in Bristow, OK, the son of Loyd Franklin and Hazel Peterson Franklin. He served in the U. S. Marines during the Korean War and was a member of the V. F. W. and American Legion in Lake City, FL. He also served as a volunteer in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Lake City, FL.He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Floyd Louis and Melanie, Fair Hope, AL; granddaughter, Abbey Franklin, Fair Hope, AL; 1 brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Jenny Franklin, High Springs, FL; 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy and Howard Osborn, Hutsonville, Joyce Kraemer, Robinson, JoAnn and Allen Lamar, Wood River, Helen Louise Tucker, Santa Rosa, CA, Carolyn and Frank Hamilton, Sullivan, IN; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael Louis Franklin; and 2 brothers, Raymond and John Franklin.Private Family memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL. Public visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday preceding the services.
