Floyd "LeAlan" York, 59, of Annapolis, IL, passed away on February 16, 2022, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL. He was born November 29, 1962, in Robinson, where he was raised before making a life for himself in Lake County, IN. Though he worked in a number of capacities throughout his life (including that of a moonshiner!), he found a career in truck driving. In fact, the last three years of his life found LeAlan as the owner/operator of a log hauling business for the Amish. This work found him on the road throughout Illinois and Indiana, all the way to Kentucky! His partnership with the Amish was a foundational step in his coming back to God, and for that, we are eternally grateful. Much of his time off the road found LeAlan outside. He knew the thrill of mushroom hunting, relished in the peace that only comes with a rod and reel in hand, and cherished times spent camping with friends and family. They could each attest to the man's all-consuming love of food as well as his deep affection for reading, especially westerns. The best chapters of LeAlan's story were saturated with love for his family. We are thankful that his love is written on our hearts and will cherish this one-of-a-kind man's memory for as long as we live. He married Sharyl (Halford) on February 26, 2001, and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Amber Haron, Megan York, and Paige York; two step-children, Lynnette Linsner and April Kennedy; his grandchildren, Parker Haron, Harlie Haron, Aria Haron, Jake Davis, Kelley Davis, and Lexie Snow; his brother, Rick Dennis; his nephew, Mathew Dennis; his niece, Alisha Shockley; as well as several cousins and other extended family members. It was LeAlan's wish to be cremated without public services. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
