Fern A. Mckee

Fern A. McKee, 90 of Robinson, IL, died at 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. She was born June 9, 1918 in Crawford County, IL., the daughter of Charles H. Mills and Gladys Lankston Mills. She worked in the shipping department at L. S. Heath and Sons and retired in 1980 after over 30 years of service. She was a member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Robinson. Her hobbies included growing flowers, ceramics, cooking, and helping with her grandchildren.She married Harold L. McKee June 28, 1936 and he preceded her in death June 16, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gene McKee; her granddaughter, Shawna Catt; and 2 sisters, Pauline Smith and Maxine and her husband, Frank McIntosh.She is survived by 1 son, Harold Wayne McKee, Robinson; her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Gerald Shew, Robinson; her daughter-in-law, Gayle McKee, Robinson 6 grandchildren, Jenise Catt, Carlsbad, NM, Steve Shew, Robinson, Jennifer Rowe, Nashua, NH, Tim McKee, SC, Brad McKee, Denver, CO, and Bart McKee, Robinson; 11 great grandchildren, Breck Catt, Bagdad, Iraq, Stevie Shew, Mason Shew. Linzey McKee, Cassie, Abbey, Mattie Rowe, Michael McKee, Abbey McKee, Mason McKee, and Marley McKee.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2009 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home preceding the services.
