Fawneile Jackson

August 13, 1946 — March 31, 2024

Fawneile Jackson, 77, of Robinson, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Richland Nursing and Rehab in Olney, IL. Born on August 13, 1946, in Robinson, IL, her journey through life was one marked by joy, dedication, and an unwavering spirit of generosity. Raised in West Union, IL, she became well-known for her compassionate nature as well as her tireless work ethic. She held various roles throughout her working years, from Earl's Supper Club in West Union to Hooks Drug Store in Robinson, and later as a secretary for a loan officer at Crawford County State Bank. Fawneile culminated her professional journey in accounts payable at Maco Management, where she retired after several years of diligent service.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Fawneile's passions were as diverse as they were heartfelt. She was an artist, and though she enjoyed painting, her primary medium was yarn, creating crocheted masterpieces that warmed bodies and hearts alike. Her hands were always busy, whether teaching her grandchildren to crochet and cross-stitch or indulging in her surprising favorite pastime - pulling weeds under the sun's fiery gaze (much to her family's chagrin.) This activity was more than just a chore; it was her sanctuary, her refuge from stress and the chaos of life. That being said, she consistently maintained the heart of a child, as evidenced by repeatedly going outside in her swimsuit to play in the rain and mud with her grandchildren! Her lessons to them were simple yet profound: to cherish moments of joy, to rise above others' opinions, and to embrace life's playful side.

But perhaps the greatest lesson she taught her family was the value of living selflessly. After all, Fawneile's heart was a haven, ever-open to those in need of comfort or a home-cooked meal, even if she had scarce means to do so. Her culinary talents were legendary, with dishes like her homemade noodles and chicken pot pie becoming cherished family treasures that nourished both body and soul. It's no wonder her grandkids spent every weekend at their grandma's house, a sanctuary of love and laughter. As we remember Fawneile Jackson, let us carry forward that same generous heart, embracing each day with the carefree joy and unconditional love she embodied throughout her 77 years with us. Her life was a masterclass in living meaningfully, and her memory will continue to inspire and motivate all who were fortunate enough to bask in her radiant presence.

She is lovingly remembered by her children, Steve Freeman and Nikki & Eddie Guyer; her cherished grandchildren, Sierra Freeman, TJ & Elicya Freeman, Sienna Freeman, Ashley Attaway, Adam & Carmen Alspach, Blayze Guyer, and Destiny Guyer & Chyanne Howell; and her adored great-grandchildren, Patience Attaway, Bryson Alspach, Mallory Alspach, and Oliver Howell. Fawneile's joyous legacy continues with her "bonus grandkids," Harper Callahan, Colton Hites, and Kelsey Hites, and her devoted sister, Jeanette Culp, alongside numerous nieces and nephews who were also blessed by her nurturing presence. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max & Gale Ellis; her daughter, Angie Brock; her granddaughter, Madison Brock; her siblings, Tuffy Ellis and Jeanenne Ellis; and her former husband and good friend, John R. Jackson.
