Everett T. York, 79 of West York, IL, died Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Danville V. A. Illiana Health Care Hospital in Danville, IL. He was born July 6, 1929 in rural Oblong, the son of Franklin Dennis York and Viola Watts Bonham York. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in Japan in the U. S. Army. He was a cement finisher, a member of the West Union Church of the Nazarene, and the Marshall V. F. W. Post.Everett married Edith Mae Bridgewater September 13, 1951 and she survives. He is also survived by 6 sons and their spouses, Mark and Judy York, Flora, Tom and Cathy York, Melrose, Eddie York, Topeka, KS, Virgil York, Vallejo, CA, Randy and Cecelia York, rural Marshall, and Eric and Missy York, West York; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Martha and Don Molinet, Marshall, Myra and Gary Otey, Robinson; his step son, Michael M. Dix, Valdez, Alaska; 14 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters and 9 brothers.Visitation will be Tuesday, April 14th from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union with a graveside service to follow in the Danville Veteran's Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday. Pastor Penny Brown is in charge of the service. Military honors will be conducted at the graveside. The Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the West Union Church of the Nazarene with envelopes at the funeral home.
