Edytha Pearl Drummond Roberts, 84, West Union, IL, died at 6:25 a.m. E.S.T., Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Union Hospital, Terre Haute, IN. She was born April 26, 1924 in Hutsonville Township, Crawford County, IL, the daughter of Lester Leon Mitchell and Ona Myrle Brown Mitchell. She was a housekeeper for the elderly, worked at Wilderness Lake Campground and Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel. She attended Grand Prairie Church and then became a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church. She was also a member of the West Union American Legion Auxiliary.She married Clyde Drummond on June 7, 1942, and he preceded her in death November 19, 1949. She married Charles W. Roberts April 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death February 19, 1983. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Celia Jean Mitchell in infancy and Ruth Arlene Carson Miller.She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Arthur L. and Freda Drummond, Marshall, IL; her son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Glenda Roberts, Virginia Beach, VA; her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Don Hayes, West Union; her daughter-in-law, Libby Drummond, Marshall; her brother and sister-in-law, Leon and Iwana Mitchell, Hutsonville; 2 sisters-in-law, Marjorie Bowen and Nina Drummond, both of Robinson; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; and several beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, West Union, IL. Burial will be in the Newlin Cemetery, rural Robinson. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
