Edward L. Rich

Edward L. Rich, 63, of Palestine died at 7:05 p.m. on December 16, 2010 at Crawford Memorial Hospital. He was born on May 7, 1947 in Shelbyville, TN, the son of George Rich and Hattie Lankford Rich. He worked in the garage at Marathon, for whom he was employed for over 30 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Palestine Eagles and the Oak Glen Golf Course.He married Karen Waggoner in 1970 and they had two children who survive: his son, Brent Rich, Robinson and his daughter, Heather White, Robinson. He married Pamela Douglas on September 18, 1991 and she survives. He is also survived by his mother, Hattie Rich, Robinson, a stepson, Corey Douglas, Palestine; three granddaughters, Taylor Rich, Breeanna Rich, and Lauren White, all of Robinson; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria & Bob Johns, Decatur, Shirley Beabout, Palestine, Diane & Mike Stephens, Robinson, and Wilma Hardiman, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 20 at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, with Rev. John Brand presiding. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 19 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Cemetery, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
