Edward L. Ayola, of Parrish, FL, died Friday, July 31, 2008. He was born May 16, 1929, in Joliet, IL, the son of Daniel Ayola and Mildred Fox Aylola. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict and played in the U. S. Army bands for six years and graduated from the navy School of Music in Washington, D.C. He received a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK and was the principal Tuba player in the Tulsa Philharmonic Orchestra. He then attended Vandercook College of Music in Chicago and received his Master of Music Education Degree. He was a public school instrumental music teacher in Illinois for 28 years. He went to Bradenton FL 21 years ago and was the conductor of the Manatee Community Band. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Gil Ayola; and 2 sisters, Mildred Hernandez and Thelma Somma.He married Jan Miner July 20, 1985 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lora and Danny Recor of Whitefied, New Hampshire; 2 sisters and his brother-in-law, Gladys Polich and Donna and Pete Satara, all of Las Vegas, NV; 2 brothers, Frank Ayola, Los Angeles, CA and Ken Ayola, Port Charlotte, FL; his grandson, Benjamin Recor; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roy and Pauline Miner, Robinson; his brother-in-law and his wife, Ray and Donna Miner, Rantoul; and several nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2008 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. Tom Akers officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. Grave side services will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery. Military graveside services will be conducted by the V. F. W. Post #4549, AmVets Post #33, American Legion Post #69 and American Legion Post #132. Memorials may be made to Tidewell and Pallative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd, Sarasota, FL 34236.
