Dwight Hanson, 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2011 at the Gillespie Heritage Manon, Gillespie,IL. He was born April 2, 1923 in Robinson, IL, the son of Leslie Ray Hanson and Gladys Stoltz Hanson. He served in the U. S. Navy and was a truck driver for Marathon. He was a member of the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188, and Robinson American Legion Post #69. He helped build the Oak Glen Golf Course and was a charter member of the course.Dwight married Dorothy Mae Lewis and she preceded in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and his daughter, Mary Luellen Hanson. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Pat Hanson, Mt. Olive; 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Erica and Monty Brown, Mt. Olive, Dana and Mark Wesolowski, Westchester, Megan Hanson, Mt. Olive; 4 great grandchildren, Chelsey Gorsich, Owen Wesolowski, Luke Wesolowski, Samantha Hanson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Rev. Tom Akers officiating. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 9th at the funeral home preceding the services. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Olive Alumni Association and the Robinson Alumni Association.
