Doyne Reinbold, 79, of Palestine, IL, died on September 9, 2019, while vacationing in Grand Junction, CO. He was born June 24, 1940, in Palestine, the son of Fay Reinbold & Pauline Reinbold, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Donna Wheeldon; and his brother, Norman Reinbold. He married Pamela (Buntin) in December of 1990, and she survives. He is also survived by his son & daughter-in-law, David & Debbie Reinbold (Palestine, IL); by his daughter, Cathy Horner (Navarre, OH); by his step-daughter, Laurel Preston; by his grandchildren, Kayla & Rob Malone, Samantha & Jevon Pearse, Kurt Bramel, Sarah Reinbold, and Wyatt Bramel; by his great-granddaughter, Hannah Malone; by his brothers, Paul Reinbold and Nolan & Norma Reinbold; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. Doyne grew up in the Palestine area and was a 1958 graduate of PHS. For a time, he worked for the Indianapolis stockyards before moving back to the Palestine area. Here, he served in the National Guard for a number of years, all while becoming a fixture at the Marathon refinery. He would go on to work in the refinery for 50 years before retiring at the age of 75, but not before impacting countless co-workers and friends. Never one to let dust settle, time away from Marathon found him on the farm. He truly enjoyed the hours he spent on his tractor, as they were moments spent doing what he loved the most. Though his work ethic was second-to-none, Doyne still made time to see the world around him. Over the last several years, Doyne and Pam took part in several trips all over North America, and made countless memories along the way. Friends and family will remember Doyne Reinbold as a man who lived his way. That's not to say he lived selfishly, as he was the kind of guy who would take the shirt off his back for you if he could! It was evident that he loved his family with every fiber of his being, and truly treasured times he spent with his grandchildren. Simply put, Doyne's legacy of excellence and love will be treasured by all who were blessed to know him. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 15th at the funeral home with Pastor Karen Russell and Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the "Palestine Lion's Club", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
