Douglas Henderson Lamoy

September 8, 1964 — April 3, 2020

Douglas Henderson LaMoy, born September 8, 1964, in Hialeah, Florida to William and Jean LaMoy (Gregory), passed away of natural causes at his residence in Indianapolis Indiana, on April 3, 2020. His father passed at a young age, and he was fortunate enough to have a loving Step-Father, Lowell Pitser. Doug was a blue collar American and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. During his time in service he received a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (w/1 star), Meritorious Mast, and a Good Conduct Medal. It is no surprise, to those who knew him, that he also earned a Rifle Expert Badge and a Pistol Sharpshooter Badge. After being honorably discharged after four years of service, Doug began his lifelong profession as a surveyor. Shortly after, he met his best friend and partner in crime, for over 35 years, Gary Gamble. Doug loved his family beyond measure, and he challenged them to excel in all aspects of life. He enjoyed shooting guns, playing with his dog, hanging out with friends, and attending family events. Doug never met a conversation he didn’t like, and he always had a way of making people feel special. Every visit, he’d leave everyone with a full heart, a box of Cinnabon, or a cooler full of beer. He was a great friend, father, and grandfather He loved to tell stories, and few could ever top them. Even if you had heard it before, you’d want to hear it again. His kindness and generosity were limitless for those closest to him, and he always gave the best advice. He left us with a lifetime of loving memories and for that he will forever remain in our hearts. Doug is survived by two daughters Mickie Hyre (Sam), and Beth LaMoy (Gavin Littleton). Four grandchildren, Emily, Shaina, Marcus and Ryder Hyre. His mother Jean Pitser, and two sisters Donna Martin and Sandi Shultz. It was Doug's wish to be cremated without a public service. However, in honor of his love of animals, friends and family are encouraged to make a donation to their local humane society. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
