Dorothy Singer

Dorothy Singer, 86 of Palm Harbor, FL, formerly of Flat Rock, IL, died Friday, January 29, 2010 at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor, FL. She was born September 10, 1923 the daughter of James Jennings and Clemmie Downum Jennings. She worked as a tailor on Army bases when Forest was in the service . She was a member of the TOPS, Flat Rock and the First Missionary Baptist Church, Flat Rock.Dorothy married Forest Warren Singer on December 6, 1941 and he preceded her in death on June 24, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Dorothy is survived by her 2 daughters and her son-in-law, Ethel and Ron Smith, Carol Stream, IL and Faye Bromberg, Middletown, CT; 5 grandchildren and their spouses, Linda and Roger Guild, Middletown, CN, Betty Sue and Chris Scot, Datheny, AL, Michael Bromberg, Vincennes, IN, Debbie and Scott Converse, Palm Harbour, FL, and Jennifer Bob Rotundo, Geneva, IL; and 4 great grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 5, 2010 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Flat Rock, IL. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 5th at the funeral home preceding the services. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
