Doris Kay Elliott

Doris Kay Elliott, 69 of Stoy, IL, died at 11:20 p.m., Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at her home after an extraordinary long hard fought battle with cancer. She was born June 15, 1939, the daughter of Robert Hoke and Edith Dunlap Hoke. After graduating from LTC with an associates degree in Nursing at the age of 63, she became a licensed registered nurse in Illinois and Indiana . She was a member of the Oak Ridge Methodist Church.She married Max Elliott June 9, 1978 and he preceded her in death March 21, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 6 brothers, Charles, Eugene, John, Herman, Ted, and Larry Hoke; and 1 sister, Mary Lou Hoke.She is survived by 2 daughters and her son-in-law, Jill and Randy Nidey, Stoy and Josy Visner, Oblong; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffery and Julie Hoke, Kuwait City, Kuwait, Timothy and Sharron Elliott, Austin, TX, and Marty Keith and Gena Elliott, Litchfield, IL; 15 grandchildren, Ian, Anna, and Issac Hoke, Britagne Elliott, Zachary and Natalie Elliott, Josh and Stephanie Rodgers, Jessie and Spud Ault, Stephanie Stephens, Nathan and Taryn Nidey, David Runyon, and Jolena Visner; 2 great grandchildren, Josey Ault and Macie Stephens; 2 special sisters-in-law, Darlene Hoke, Flat Rock and Marilyn Hoke, Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 6th at 1:00 p.m. at the Hardinville Cemetery with Rev. Linda Miller officiating. Visitation will be Friday, December 5th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson.Memorials may be made to the Oblong Sports Booster Club or to the Oblong Music Boosters.
