Doris June (Allison) Ellis

April 28, 1940 — November 22, 2021

Doris June (Allison) Ellis, 81, of Robinson, IL, died November 22, 2021, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. She was born April 28, 1940, in Robinson, the daughter of Roy & Viola (King) Allison, both of whom preceded her in death. She married David Ellis on July 4, 1986, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2019. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Allison, Robert Allison, Jerry Allison, and Richard Allison; by her sister, Helen Murphy; and by her grandsons, Tucker Knoblett and Justin Dunlap. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law, Vicki & Tony Hoalt (North Port, FL) and Kelly & David Eason (O'Fallon, IL); by her son & daughter-in-law, David & Esther Dunlap (Kingsville, TX); by her step-children & their children, David & Patricia Ellis, Mark Ellis, and Max Gasaway, Jr.; by her grandchildren & their spouses, Jessica & Joe Cunningham, Jeramie Reddick, Brandon Reddick, Caleb Kinder, Kelsi Alston, Samuel Ellis, and Emily Ellis; by her great-grandchildren, Quinn, Kassidy, Kayla, Alexis, Raegen, Jake, Alek, Luke, and Bianca; by her special "family" Jody & Stanley Tuttle and their two sons, Eric and William; by her sister, Sharon Adams-Berry (Mesa, AZ); by her brothers & sister-in-law, Howard Allison (Modesto, CA) and Roy Lee Allison, Jr. & Marge Allison (Apache Junction, AZ); by her sisters-in-law, Virginia Dalton, Marilyn Cooper, Marcia Norman, Verda Ellis, Phyllis Ellis, and Bonnie Ellis; and by several nieces and nephews. Anyone who knew Doris could attest to her love of sunshine and the outdoors. She enjoyed camping with Dave out in God's creation and relished the quiet peace that only comes to a soul with a rod and reel in hand. The owner of a green thumb, she spent countless hours tending to her garden, which was a source of both satisfaction and pride. On those rare occasions that found her inside, she almost always had the television set to the Hallmark Channel. Though her family will forever remember Doris as "the boss", she was, by all accounts, fun! Few things brought more life to her living than making others laugh, and we will forever miss that unique joy that radiated throughout her 81 years. She will never and can never be forgotten. As per her request, Doris will be cremated without a public service. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of arrangements.
