Donavea "Donna" Swaner, 88, of Robinson, IL, died March 25, 2021, at the Carle Clinic in Urbana, IL. She was born July 17, 1932, in Robinson, the daughter of Charles Victor Brush & Thelma Amanda (Weaver) Brush, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Delores Osborn. She married her high school sweetheart, Billy Swaner, on January 2, 1952, and he survives. She is also survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Robert & Glinda Swaner (Normal, IL); by her daughter & son-in-law, Susan & Michael Limpich (Ventura, CA); by her grandchildren & their spouses, Jenn Swaner, Rob & Katie Swaner, Meghan & Vince Smet, and Ben Limpich; by her great-grandchildren, Nicholas & Hannah Swaner, Matthew Swaner, Kat Swaner, Ana Swaner, Cullen Jolley, Kasen Jolley, and Kyler Smet; and by a close family friend, Darra & husband Bill Beard. Donna was a lifelong resident of Crawford County and cheerled at Robinson High School before graduating in 1950. Though she worked in a couple of different capacities for CUSD #2, she eventually found herself on the Board of Review for the Crawford County Assessor's Office, a job she truly enjoyed. Though she found great fulfillment professionally, it was evident that Donna discovered her life's work within the four walls of her home. Her family was the apple of her eye, and nothing brought more life to her living than simply spending time with those she loved most in the world. Her husband was her best friend and partner; her children, her pride; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her joy. They will remember Donna as a woman who fit a lot of living within her 88 years. She held a longtime passion for music and dance, and even in the twilight years of her life, kept up with the times with surprising digital literacy! We who are left behind grieve, but not as those without hope. After all, Donna put her faith in Christ years ago, a truth that was evident not only in her longtime membership with the New Hebron Baptist Church but in the very way she lived her life as well. We are grateful for the legacy she leaves behind but are even more thankful that she has found herself in the arms of her Savior. A time of visitation will be held from 12:30-1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 31st, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, IL. Services will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., with Brother Lee Gurley officiating.
