Donald H. Tohill, 92 of Robinson, IL died at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson, IL at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010. He was born October 20, 1917 in Martin Township, Crawford County, IL, the son of George Tohill and Mabel Riggs Tohill.Don had been employed with Marathon Petroleum Co from February 26, 1942 to March 1978, as a Maintenance Coordinator. He was a member of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, the Robinson Lions club, and an active member for years with the Robinson 4th of July Celebration Committee, and the Robinson First Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and a professional tinkerer.Don married Maxine Fielder on June 29, 1940 and she preceded him in death on June 2, 1982. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Nan Draper; his son, Roger Tohill; and 2 sisters, Lucille Gatton and Marie Stout.He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Vaughn Johnson, Hutsonville; a son-in-law, Frank Draper, Hutsonville; his sister, Joyce Stephenson, Arthur; 6 grandchildren and their spouses, Pam and Mike Chapman, Annapolis, Laura and Greg Dawson, Carmel, IN, Diane Johnson, Terre Haute, IN, Craig Tohill, Tampa, FL, Matt and Jodi Draper, Hutsonville, and Daniel Tohill, Ft. Drum, NY; 6 great grandchildren, Andrea and Ben Chapman, Annapolis, Clayton Dawson, Carmel, IN, Bailey, Katie, and Donald Wyatt Draper; and a special friend, Jean Newsome.Funeral services will be held Friday, June 25th at 10:30 a.m. at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Brother Joe Griffith in charge of services. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24th. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home following visitation by the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250. Memorials may be made to the Robinson Food Pantry with envelopes available at the funeral home.
