Donald "Doc" Inboden

Donald K. 'Doc' Inboden, 75, of Robinson, IL, died at 10:55 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2008 at his residence. He was born August 1, 1932 in Robinson, IL, the son of Clifford Inboden, Sr. and Mary D. Rich Inboden. His freshman year he attended and played football for Old Miss and then transferred to EIU and played football there. He was co-owner of Inboden Seed Sales from 1967-2006. He worked at Marathon PDU for 28 years. He was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, a member for over 30 years of the Robinson Masonic Lodge #250, a lifetime member of the Danville Consistory, served on the Crawford County Board for 28 years of which he was Chairman for 6 years, served on the Republican Precinct Committee for over 40 years, was a member and Past President of the Robinson Rotary, served on the First Robinson Savings Bank board since 1991, was President of the Crawford County Health Department; and helped organize both the Health Department and the Crawford County Mental Health Department.He married Dorothy Mae Weger on May 2, 1952 and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Brad Harris, Clay City; his son and daughter-in-law, Dennis Gregory and Susan Inboden, Robinson; 4 grandchildren, Levi Harris, Chicago, Laura Harris, Charleston, Daniel and Jessica Inboden, Louisville, and Shannon Inboden, Charleston; his great granddaughter, Josie Inboden, Louisville; his sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Burl Rich, Flat Rock; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Clifford Jr. and Sue Inboden, Palestine, Robert D. and Nancy Inboden, Flat Rock, and Roger Inboden, Robinson; 3 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mildred Trout, Olney, Ada and Sam Bickers, Palestine, Jo and Les Carter, Flat Rock; 1 brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Bonnie Weger, Robinson.He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother, Ronald E. Inboden; and 1 sister, Barbara M. Inboden, 2 brothers-in-law, Donald Weger, and Emerson Trout, 2 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Ray Legg and Georgia and Charles Lackey, and in-laws, Millard and Maggie Weger.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Robinson Community Center. Private burial will be in the Shire Cemetery, rural Stoy, IL. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2008 at the Robinson Community Center preceding the funeral services. Memorials may be made to the Doc and Dorothy Inboden LTC Nursing Scholarship Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
