Delores “Dee” Wesley, 55, of Robinson, IL, passed away at 12:45 p.m. (EST) on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN following years of declining health. She was born August 22, 1963 in Robinson, the daughter of Randall L. Wesley & Edith M. (Routein) Wesley, both of whom preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Wes Fool (Burnt Hills, NY); by her daughter, Cindy Fool (Palestine, IL); by her siblings & their spouses, Ronald Wesley & significant other Vickie Gribben (Flat Rock, IL), Cheryl & Jeff Musgrave (Porterville, IL), and Glenn & Sherry Wesley (Clinton, MO); as well as her nieces, nephews, and their spouses, Ron Wesley, Brent Wesley, Cory & Ashley Weger, Emily & Wyatt Kintner, Nathan & Rachel Wesley, Shelly & Michael Blake, and Jay Musgrave. Dee grew up in rural Flat Rock and was a 1981 graduate of Robinson High School. From an early age, she demonstrated a penchant for music that she carried with her for the rest of her life. Not only could she sing, but she also had the innate ability to play by any piece of music by ear on the piano. This love of music brought her to major in Music Education at Central Methodist College in Fayette, MO, where she also majored in English. She would further her education at Eastern Illinois University, where she studied Special Education. This served her well at Nuttall Middle School, where she has taught since 1997. She found great purpose in her work and loved her students dearly. Away from work, she never stopped learning. She had an inquisitive mind, which led her to be well-versed over a wide range of subjects. In recent years, she took up quilting, and this brought her countless hours of enjoyment. Another source of joy in her life were her dogs. Zoe and Chance in particular had a special place in her heart. Dee will long be remembered as a kind, sweet soul who showed both happiness and grace in the face of adversity. She could never and will never be forgotten. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 14th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. A celebration of her life will be held at 3:00 p.m. with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. During the service, there will be a time for friends and family to share some of their favorite memories of Dee. Casual dress is welcomed. Burial will be held in the Tohill Cemetery. In honor of all of the help and care she gave to children throughout the years, memorials may be made to Make-a-Wish Illinois, granting the wishes of children diagnosed with critical illnesses across Illinois.
