David "Dave" Flynn

David "Dave" Flynn, 60, of Palestine, IL, died on March 26, 2022, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL.

Dave was born on December 30, 1961, in Hammond, IN, the son of William E. "Bud" & Phyllis (Bernhardt) Flynn, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, William "Mike" Flynn, as well as several aunts and uncles.

He married Angie Newlin on October 31, 2003, and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Jordan & Chelsea Flynn (Omaha, NE), Brad & Marcy Dunlap (Palestine, IL), Adam & Darcee Dunlap (Flat Rock, IL) and Morgan Flynn (Omaha, NE); by his six grandchildren, Shyan Dunlap, Chase Dunlap, Ayden Dunlap, Dylan Tohill, Calum Flynn and Clarkson Flynn; by his sister & brother-in-law, Christine & Jack Shields (Oblong, IL); by his brother & sister-in-law, Jeffrey & Michele Flynn (Lexington, NE); by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Harlen & Linda Newlin (Hutsonville, IL); by his in-laws, Greg & Angie Newlin (Hutsonville, IL) and Rick & Gina Rich (Hardinville, IL); as well as several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Dave grew up in Hammond, Indiana and would move to Crawford County until his family moved to Ainsworth, Nebraska. He was a graduate of Ainsworth High School. Dave would find work as a ranch hand while in Nebraska. He would move back to Robinson and find work with several jobs, from welding and maintenance work. He recently has been employed with Crawford Oil for over ten years.

Away from work, chances were that this outdoorsman was out enjoying God's creation. In fact, it could be said that as a young man, he found life in the thrill of the hunt and also enjoyed that special kind of peace that only comes with a rod and reel in hand. Dave was known as an avid sports fan, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

A time of visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 30th at the funeral home, with Pastor Phil Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Hardinville Cemetery.
