Darrel Miller, 73, of Robinson, IL, died March 15, 2021, at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born April 14, 1947, in Butler County, KY, the son of Garnett Miller & Lona (Coley) Miller, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Klose; by his sons, Aaron and Travis; and by his grandson, Joshua McWhorter. He married Cherie Huff on June 12, 1967, and she survives. He was also survived by his sons, Edward Miller (Robinson, IL) and Austin Miller (Robinson, IL); by his daughters, Amy Lucas and her partner, Sam Beard (Robinson, IL) and Lori & Tony Croxton (Beechmont, KY), Renay & Scott McWhorter (Killeen, TX); by his son-in-law, Harry Klose (Leesville, SC); by his 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; by his uncle, Leon Miller (Morgantown, KY); as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. By all accounts, Darrel Miller was a man of the road. Few things brought more life to his living than being behind the wheel. This truth was evident in his career path, as he drove a school bus for Robinson CUSD #2 for 8 years before becoming a trucker, a job he was truly passionate about. Time at home often found Darrel taking care of his chickens or loving on his dogs, Penny, Bella, Rascal, and Pauly. They were each a great source of companionship to him, as were his beloved family and the countless friends he has made through the years. It was evident within moments of meeting the man that he could make a friend out of anybody. The longer you spent with him, the more you'd be amazed at the depths of his memory and the stories he could pull from years gone by. These stories were almost always peppered with the same generous sense of humor with which Darrel lived his life. Friends and family alike could never forget the joy that filled his 73 years; his happiness was like a light shining into darkness. After all, it has been said that the happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes their way. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 22nd, at Little Muddy Cemetery in Butler County, KY, with Celebrant Curt Goodwine officiating. Memorials may be made to his memorial fund with checks made payable to "Goodwine Funeral Homes", who is in charge of arrangements.
