Darlene Watson

Susan Darlene Watson, 67, of rural Palestine, IL, died at 2:35 a.m. (E.S.T.) Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born March 7, 1940, the daughter of Ray Stoner and June Potter Stoner. She was a school bus driver for Palestine Community Unit 3 for 33 years. She attended the Oak Grove Church. She was a foster parent to over 20 children and a mother to over 10 foreign exchange students.She married Bill Watson April 22, 1962 and he survives. She is also survived by 5 children, Mia Watson, Molly Watson, Michael Watson, Summer Mendenhall, Autumn Mendenhall, all of Palestine; and her mother, June Stoner, Palestine.She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Stoner.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Pastor Bill Scott officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 24th at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Michael Watson Educational Fund with envelopes available at the funeral home.
