Dale M. Monroney

Dale M. Monroney, 89, Robinson, IL, died at 6:07 a.m. Sunday, March 01, 2009 at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center. He retired from Marathon Oil Company after 35 years of service. He served with the 3rd Inf. Div. with the U.S. Army in Europe during WWII. He was a 50 year member of the American Legion Post #69 and a Lifetime Member of the Disabled American Veterans. He attended the Duncanville Baptist Church.He was born October 30, 1919 in Belair, IL the son of Von Monroney and Zola A. Harrison Monroney. He married Donna D. Ewing on October 21, 1961 and she survives. He is also survived by 2 sons; Jeff Monroney, Robinson and Brent Monroney, Porterville, his daughter and son-in-law; Dena and Jerry Elmore, Vincennes, IN, 2 granddaughters, his brother; Rex Monroney, Sun City West, AZ, a niece and a nephew, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sisters-in-law; Paul and Lura Monroney and Maxine Monroney.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson with Bro. Mark Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow in the Robinson New Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the V.F.W Post #4549, American Legion Post #69, American Legion Post #132 and AmVets Post #33. Visitation will be from 5 -8 p.m. Wednesday and until service time on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the American Legion.
