Clyde Lee Weaver

September 1, 1931 — August 28, 2022

Clyde Lee Weaver, 90, of Cadiz, KY, formerly of Robinson, IL, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022, at Baptist Health in Paducah, KY. He was born September 1, 1931, in Robinson, the youngest of sixteen children born to William Henry Weaver & Rosa Ellen Letts Weaver, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Lee Weaver, as well as fifteen brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Nadine Weaver (Cadiz, KY); his sons & daughters-in-law, Cliff Alan & Robbin Weaver (Evansville, IN) and Craig Andrew & Tracey Weaver (Cadiz, KY); his sisters-in-law, Mary Weaver (Oblong, IL), Sarah Kay Williams (Robinson, IL), Eileen Mikeworth (Robinson, IL), and Naomi Mikeworth (Robinson, IL); as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

As a boy, Clyde grew up west of Robinson and would eventually serve his country as an air traffic controller in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge from Laredo Air Force Base in 1956, the Weavers moved to Evansville, IN, where he continued working as an air traffic controller for the FAA, a position he held for 29 years before retiring in 1981. His love of aviation led Clyde into the skies himself, as he was a private pilot for many years.

Back on the ground, his retirement years found him managing Trace Industries, an adult day training facility that offers a variety of vocational, life, and social skills for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. His work here brought him lasting fulfillment, as did time spent on his cattle farm in Cadiz. Anyone who knew Clyde could attest to his love of the outdoors, be that fishing, hunting, or simply sitting on his porch telling a story from the good old days!

Though he was a member of organizations like Civitan International
and the NARFE, his most valued membership was in the family of God. A member and former deacon of the Cadiz Baptist Church, we are thankful that Clyde placed his trust in Jesus, who has led him from death to life. Until we meet again!
