Earl Daugherty, 79, West Union, IL, died at 10:58 p.m. EST Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was an iron worker for Local # 439 Terre Haute with 45 years of service. He served with the U.S. Army Air Corps in Japan at the end of WWII and was a member of the West Union American Legion and First Baptist Church.He was born August 22, 1929 in York, IL, the son of Clifford Ray 'Jack' Daugherty and Helen M. Medeke Daugherty. He married Rosalie Bonesteel and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law; Mary Helen and Randy Nave, Oblong, his son and daughter-in-law; Jack and Vicky Daugherty, West Union, 4 grandchildren and spouses; Kim Pritchard, Robinson, Jerry and Christi Pritchard, Oblong, Jessica Daugherty, Lexington, KY and Clifford Jack and Alissa Daugherty, Louisville, KY, his great-granddaughter; Nakeya Pritchard, Oblong, 7 brothers and sisters; Gene Daugherty, Hutsonville, Mary Ellis, Paris, Dorothy Haenig, Marshall, Elsie and Herman Shotts, Marshall, Bertha Clark, Marshall, Patricia Ogle, West Union and Dema Nethery, North Vernon, IN and several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 brothers; George, Fred, Ron and Don Daugherty.Private family services will be held at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home with Brother Don Russell officiating. Burial will be in the Old York Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Earl Daugherty Memorial Fund.
