Clarence Thomas Misner was the first born of five sons to Glen and Joy Misner on November 29, 1918. At age of 19 he married his true love, Myrtle St. John. They were married on July 9, 1938 for 68 years before God called her home on February 14, 2005.To this union 3 children were born: Deloris and Fenton Nichles, Phyllis and Carl Robinson, and Jim and Becky Misner. The family grew to include 7 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren. All of wich he loved very much.He was preceded in death besides his wife by 4 brothers, Bill Misner and 3 in infancy; one grandson; and 1 great granddaughter. Also 1 nephew that considered Clarence and Myrtle his second parents.Clarence had worked many jobs during his working years. He retired from the Union-York Water District at age 85. But, farming was what he loved doing most.While his health allowed, he was active in the York Masonic Lodge, West Union Ruritan Club, and the First Baptist Church, West Union.Clarence was also a minister for several smaller churches having been ordained in February 1955.Two other things he enjoyed were flying. He did get his solo license. He said all cares and worries faded away while looking down on God's creation. Clarence had many friends, but Burton Riggs was his fishing buddy. They were on the river early every morning and had many big fish stories to tell.His next best friend was Julie his dog. She was his next love next to Mom.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2011 at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home, West Union, IL with Rev. Don Russell, Brad Daugherty, and Steve Dawson officiating. Burial will be in the Hutsonville Cemetery, Hutsonville, IL. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28th at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be conducted at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 28th after the visitation by the York Masonic Lodge #313. Memorials may be made to the West Union First Baptist Church.
