Cindy Weger

December 18, 1953 — September 4, 2023

Cindy Weger, a vibrant and cherished member of the community, passed away on September 4, 2023, in the warmth and comfort of her home in Robinson, IL. Born December 18, 1953, in Fort Campbell, KY, her childhood was mostly spent in Pana and Flat Rock, IL. Cindy would go on to grace Robinson High School's halls before graduating in 1971. Not long after, she married the love of her life, Tom Weger, on her 18th birthday, a union that blossomed over 51 beautiful years, defined by devotion, laughter, and not a small amount of ribbing!

Cindy started her professional journey at L.S. Heath, later transitioning to Walmart and City Hall. Yet, her industrious and entrepreneurial spirit led her to buy the old Argus building to establish The Argus House reception hall. Hosting innumerable celebrations and gatherings over its three years, Cindy warmly handed over the establishment to her daughter, Jodi, who transformed it into the popular beauty salon Hello Gorgeous. After this venture, Cindy added her own sparks to Sparks Floral, contributing her creative flair to the business's growth.

Simply put, Cindy was a force of nature when it came to crafting, decorating, and all things fashion. Never more in her element than when decorating her home with her sizeable Pioneer Woman collection or creating wreaths and centerpieces, Cindy was known to give generously, sharing her handcrafted gems with family and friends alike. A lover of travel, she journeyed to the Caribbean on a number of cruises with her girlfriends, but her favorite trip found them on the rippling seas of Alaska. A couple of times a year, she and Tom would make the pilgrimage to Tunica, MS, where she could be found manning the slot machines for hours on end. Her sense of adventure also found joy closer to home, namely, Red Hill, where her family would set up camp and spend quality time together enjoying the great outdoors. Back home, she spent innumerable hours out in her flower garden and was particularly fond of hostas (to the delight of the many deer she'd curse off her property!)

For Cindy, the world was her runway, and fashion was her first language. Her collection of clothes, shoes, and jewelry bore witness to her love of shopping. Always the life of any gathering, she loved making people laugh and was not shy of being the center of attention. If trips to Walmart were any indication, she was everyone's friend, as her personality was impossible to ignore. Her most profound virtue was her selflessness; she always put people before herself, ensuring others were taken care of. This selfless love made it hard for her to be the one receiving help in the twilight of her life. May the light of Cindy Weger continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew her, and may her memory serve as a beautiful testament to the power of grace, generosity, and grit.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Weger; by her children & their spouses, Misty & Robert Roy, Jodi & Dale Mullinix, and Justin Weger & fiancée Alissa Simmons; by her grandchildren, Tomy Jo & husband Andrew Ochs, Kori Calvert, Chance Mullinix, Dane Mullinix, Rylan King, Jalisa Dunlap, and Ash Lanctot; by her great-grandson, Jack Ochs; by her siblings, Charlie Bellinger and Robert & Judy Healy; and by her nieces & nephews, Jacqui & Andrew Brown and Ross & Amanda Parks. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack & Betty (Waldrop) Bellinger.

It was her wish to be cremated, and a private family service will be held at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock is in charge of these arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to "Riley Hospital for Children".
