Charles Edward Highsmith, 77, of Robinson, IL died at 7:48 p.m. on April 3, 2011 in Robinson. He was born January 10, 1934 in Robinson, IL, the son of William Franklin Highsmith and Cecilia Mae Hayes Highsmith. Chuck serviced in the U. S. Army for 3 years during the Korean Conflict. He was retired as the administrator/owner of Airport Industrial Medical Clinic, Romulis, MI. Charles is survived by his long time companion, Linda Overbeck; his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Lisa Highsmith; his two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Dan Knasel, Chris and Bill Riley; 8 grandchildren, Max, Michael, Matthew and Jacob Highsmith, Christine Knasel and her husband, Rex Webb, Cara Knasel; Thomas Riley and Erin Riley; his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and James €œBud€ Brackett.He was preceded in death by his parents; and his niece, Susie Brackett.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor Sheila Ducommon officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 on Tuesday preceding the services at the funeral Home. Burial will be in the Robinson New Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association with envelopes available at the funeral home.
