Christy Fox

Christy Fox, 63, of Lawrenceville, IL, died unexpectedly on January 1, 2023, at her home in Lawrenceville. She was born on January 15, 1959, in Lawrenceville, to James "Bud" & Norma (Padgett) Spencer, both of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim Spencer, and her sister, Jean Lankford.

She is survived by her husband, Chris Fox of Vincennes, IN; her daughter, Logan Wease (and her family, which includes Christy's granddaughters, Launa and Laynee) of Lawrenceville, IL; her son, Brandon Riggs of Oxford, NC; her siblings, Scott Spencer (and his family), Neil Griggs (and her family), Tom Spencer (and his family), and Marc Spencer (and his family), all of Lawrenceville IL; and by many beloved nieces, and nephews.

Christy was, by any and every account, a bright soul. Her smile could light up any room she was in, and she was one of those who always looked at the cup as half-full. This sunny disposition was, no doubt, borne out of a beautiful childhood, a period of time when she developed many friendships that she held until the very end. Her many friends could attest that Christy had a good time no matter where she went and truly enjoyed her 63 years with us. More than anything else in her life, it was evident that Christy cherished time spent with her loved ones, especially her daughter and granddaughters. The love she shared with them will continue to live on as her lasting legacy for as long as they have the breath to speak her name.

A celebration of her life will eventually be held and will be announced at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock is in charge of cremation arrangements.
