Christopher Fulling

March 25, 1991 — November 3, 2023

Christopher Fulling, a warm-hearted beacon of humor, compassion, and goodness to all who knew him, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 32 on November 3, 2023. He was born on March 25, 1991, in Robinson, IL, where he would grow up, but not before displaying a youthful propensity to terrorize his siblings and their friends! At an early age, he also showed a passion for gaming and music. As a talented choir member throughout high school, Chris was the voice that harmonized with the group, although he often humbly avoided solo performances. He possessed a spirited love for gaming, never missing an opportunity to visit a nearby GameStop (even if it meant an adventurous - and unadvised - stroll through miles of drainage ditches!)

Following his graduation from Robinson High School in 2009, he continued his education at Lincoln Trail College, aiming for a career to help others. Chris sought to make a difference in people's lives, which led him to work as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at institutions like the United Methodist Village, Cotillion Ridge, and the Magnolia Center. His compassion for the residents under his care was palpable, and he regularly went the extra mile for them. For example, Chris would regularly sit by the bedside of the dying so they wouldn't be alone in their last moments. If he feared that few would attend their funeral, he made a point to do so himself and even served as a pallbearer on a few occasions. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the next step in his short career led him into funeral service. Though his time with Goodwine Funeral Homes was brief, it was, in his estimation, the best job he ever held, perhaps because he saw value in caring for the departed and those who grieve their passing.

Over the last couple of years, Chris was employed at Hershey and, thanks to his years of healthcare experience, was a proud member of their 'Heart Team'. Unsurprisingly, he made many friends at the plant, who could each speak to the man's insatiable appetite as well as his unforgettable sense of humor. But this wasn't a new discovery, as Chris had been brightening the days of his coworkers for years. As a young man working at IGA, he would sometimes take an empty bottle of Windex, fill it with blue Gatorade, and spray the contents into his mouth to get a reaction out of everyone! A collector of goofy t-shirts, he was known to clock in wearing something so ridiculous that his colleagues couldn't help but smile. In short, Chris never missed an opportunity to draw out laughter and happiness and was a light in many a dark place. We have no way of knowing just how many hearts he touched in this way.

However, there was no heart Chris touched more profoundly than that of his girlfriend, Lizbeth Murillo. Faithful companions for nine years, Chris and "Lizzy" were on a path towards a shared future, marked by a love as endearing as it was enduring. It was apparent to all who knew them how perfectly matched they were, a testament to his capability for precious, enduring relationships. It's because of the bonds we shared with this dear man that we feel like a part of us is missing. We loved Chris, and now, that love has nowhere to go, or so it seems. But perhaps, in his memory and as his legacy, we can give our love away to a world that so desperately needs it. After all, that's exactly what Chris Fulling did, and we're all the better because he lived.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his parents, David & Glenda Fulling; his sister, Mindy Evans; and his brother & sister-in-law, Patrick & Megan Fulling. He was a cherished "Unkie" to his nephews and niece, Jaxon Fulling, Jameson Fulling, Jocelyn Fulling, and Elias Evans. Chris' life touched many, extending his love to his soulmate, Lizbeth Murillo, his uncle, Paul Postlewaite, and to numerous international brothers, sisters, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene & Frances Pauline Terry and Lee & Patricia Fulling, and by his aunt, Terry Postlewaite.
