Christina "Tina" Higgins

June 24, 1972 — March 9, 2024

Christina "Tina" Higgins, a beacon of love and laughter whose selfless spirit animated the lives around her, took her last breath on March 9, 2024, at CHI Health Immanuel in Omaha, NE. Born on June 24, 1972, in Danville, IN, She grew up all over Crawford County and was a 1990 graduate of Oblong High School. The next chapter of her life found Tina embracing motherhood, nurturing a loving family that became the center of her universe. It was evident that her heart belonged to her family, and she embodied the axiom that family does not end with blood. Every person was kin in her eyes, and she was "Mom" to many in Nebraska, a state she's called "home" for the past two decades. Here, she blossomed into a professional photographer, capturing the whimsical beauty of life through her lens. Tina found her niche photographing the warmth of families and the serene elegance of nature. Though her vocational path was varied, her tenure as a manager at the Shopco in Albion, NE, remained the highlight of her career. Most recently, her generous spirit radiated through the aisles of Werts' G.W. grocery store in Saint Edward, NE.

An avid reader, much of her time away from work found Tina with a Kindle in hand, lost in cascading romances and lavish tales of love. In the narrative of her own life, the chapters overflowed with joy, humor, and doses of playful mischief! One of the funniest people one could know, Tina's irrepressible wit and contagious laughter were just a couple of her trademarks, as were her ever-open door and open heart. These were not merely traits but ways of life for Tina. She had the precious gift of making an ordinary moment extraordinary by simply being present. Her selflessness was legendary, prioritizing everyone else's needs before her own. To give until it hurt was her unwritten creed, and in her astounding generosity, she would give still more. No one was a stranger to Tina, for in her eyes, everyone was worthy of love, care, and respect.

To describe Tina Higgins would be to speak of unconditional love, enveloping warmth, and a sense of humor that brightened the darkest rooms. Selfless, loving, and funny-these words are but a thumbnail sketch of her vast portrait. Her story - though it may seem to have reached its end - is actually just beginning, as her spirit continues to inspire and light our own paths in the brilliant trail of her afterglow.

Tina married Jeff Higgins on June 25, 2011. Their union was a testament to partnership and mutual adoration. He remains as the guardian of their shared dreams and memories. The tapestry of Tina's life is further adorned by her children, Braiden Inboden, Alexis White, Drake White, and Alexa Strain; her stepchildren, Caleb & Briana Higgins, Lindsay Higgins, Kyle Stewart, and Curtis Higgins; her eight grandchildren; her parents, Gary Weger, Sr. and Paullette (Benton) Pethtel; her siblings, Aaron Weger and Gary Weger, Jr.; as well as several extended family members. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John & Wanda Weger and Paul & Ida Benton, and by her daughter, Callie Yzaguirre.
