Chester D. Carrie, Sr.

Chester D. Carrie, Sr., 86, of Robinson, IL, died at 2:00 a.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born December 15, 1921 in Decker, IN, the son of Add Carrie and Lunna Ann McCammon Carrie. He was a farmer and was a maintenance man at Lawrenceville High School, Lawrenceville, IL for 30 years. He was a member of the Robinwood Assembly of God Church, Robinson.He married Edith Thompson in October 1941, and she preceded him in death on September 11, 1997. He was also preceded in death by his parents; his son, Thomas Carrie; and 5 sisters.He is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law and 3 daughters and sons-in-law; 24 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; and 1 great great-grandson; 3 sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Murice Reitmeyer, Vincennes, IN 'Mac' and Chuck Deely, Vincennes, IN, and Doris and Bruce McCord, Vincennes, IN; Mary Ann and Jim Whitmer, and Bud and Nita Carrie who attended him at his bedside; and several nieces and nephews. Chester always said he had 8 sisters and each of them had one brother.Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (c.s.t.) Monday, June 16th at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson, IL. Graveside services will be held at the 2:00 p.m. (e.s.t.) Tuesday, June 17th at the White Lick Creek Cemetery, Mooresville, IN, with Rev. David Zemple officiating.
