Charles William Cox, 84 of Robinson, IL, died at 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born March 18, 1924 in Hollywood, TN, the son of Charles D. Cox and Mary Ellen Henderson Cox. Charles was a security guard with Stewart Security in Robinson. He served in the U. S. Navy in WWII in the European and Asian Theaters. He was a member of the Robinson American Legion Post #69 and a Lifetime Member of the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4549. He married Joene Holsen December 6, 1968 and she survives. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles David and Connie Cox, Ajo, AZ and his sister, Laura J. Carver, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Marcella Cox McKnight; and his infant brother, Bobby Lee Cox.There will be cremation with Memorial Services Saturday, April 19th at 2:00 p.m. at the Robinson Wesleyan Church. Rev. Dan Szombathy, Pastor Charles Rains, and Rev. Elaine Lewis are in charge of services. Graveside services will follow at the Robinson Old Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the combined units of the Robinson American Legion Post #69, the Robinson V. F. W. Post #4539, the Amvets Post #33, and the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132.
