Charles Jr. Mills

Charles Mills, Jr., 81, of Robinson, formerly of Belleview, FL, died at 3:25 a.m., Friday, July 24th at Cotillion Ridge Nursing Center, Robinson. He was born May 3, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN, the son of Charles C. Mills and Margurite Eisenhauer Mills. He was a manager at AT&T Telephone Company in Indianapolis for over 25 years. He served in the US Merchant Marine and the US Army during WWII. After retiring from AT&T, he moved to Belleview, FL, where he was a lifetime member of the Belleview VFW, American Legion and Eagles. He was active in the VFW Honor Guard in Belleview, FL. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Ocala, FL and the Palestine AmVets.He married Theo McDaniel on February 28, 2001 and she survives. Also surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Denny McKnight, Indianapolis and Tammy and Brian Gumbert, Morristown, IN; his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Debby Mills, Indianapolis; 2 step sons and step daughter-in-laws, Dave and Terrie McDaniel, Palestine, Bruce and Joan McDaniel, Palestine; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and two step grandchildren. He was also survived by his brother, Joseph Mills, Greenwood, IN; his sister and Dorothy Weiss, Spencer, IN. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.As per his wishes, he will be cremated and the cremains will be returned to Indianapolis, IN. Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of the arrangements.
