Charles Howard Krise, 86, of Flat Rock, IL, died on May 7, 2020, at Cotillion Ridge in Robinson, IL. He was born on October 29, 1933, in Hutsonville, IL, the son of Frank Jared Krise & Thelma Juanita (Hand) Krise, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his sister & brother-in-law, Jenny & Harold Butcher; and by his nephew-in-law, Gary Wilson. He is survived by his nieces, Joyce & husband Bob Weger (Flat Rock, IL) and Charlotta Wilson (Robinson, IL); by his nephew, Randy & wife Christie Butcher (Robinson, IL); and by several grandnieces grandnephews, and cousins. Charlie grew up in the Hutsonville area and was a graduate of Hutsonville High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1952-1953. Back home, he found work in numerous capacities before finding employment as a laborer for the Hutsonville Township. Time at home often found him working on a puzzle alongside his beloved cats. Anyone who knew him could attest to the man's love of cars (and with it, his love of chasing land speed records!) It was evident that he had a heart that beat for others. He cared for his parents when their health was failing and moved in with his sister after she lost her husband. He was a good neighbor an even better friend. His generous heart and helping hands cemented his place in the affections of all who were blessed to know him. As per his wishes, he will be interred at the York Cemetery, and private services will be held at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock is in charge of arrangements.
