Chan Bok Lee

Chan Bok Lee, 65, of Robinson, IL, died on September 24, 2020, in the comfort of his home. He was born on May 24, 1955, in Seoul, South Korea to Sam Nam Lee & Kye Nang Han Lee. He grew up in Seoul and attended school at Chungam High School, where he excelled playing soccer. He would go on to serve in the special forces in the Korean Army. In October 1992, at the age of 37, he started a new life in the United States of America alongside Misuk (Kim), who he married on January 30, 1993. Though his first local job was at McDonald's, he would soon find employment with Bradford Supply, where he made many friends throughout his many years of service. He also worked for Hershey for a time and made many lasting friendships there as well. They, along with his pals at the Robinson Elks Lodge, could all testify to the man's love of golf, a game he picked up upon moving to Robinson. As he played throughout the years, he began to excel on the course, and eventually, he became a three-time Oak Glen Club champion! It couldn't be overstated how much happiness the game brought him. He also found great satisfaction in helping teach soccer skills to local kids. In fact, his hands were ever ready to help whoever he could. In short, Chan's life was marked by kindness and joy. He was an easy-going yet hard-working soul who took the American Dream and made it his own. After all, he pursued happiness, and, by all accounts, he found it. He is survived by his wife, Misuk Lee; by his daughter, Hana Lee (Korea); by two sisters and three brothers; by a host of good friends, including Mary & Butch Spindler, Shelly & Jeff Hillard, Vince & Mary Ann Ryan, Steve & Diana Woodland, and Deahee Lee; as well as his Bradford, Oak Glen, and Hershey families. A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO COVID-19 MANDATES PASSED BY THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, SOCIAL DISTANCING MEASURES WILL BE IN FORCE, AND IT WILL BE REQUIRED THAT ALL ATTENDEES WEAR FACE COVERINGS. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation and will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the "V.F.W. Transportation Fund", with envelopes available at the funeral home.
