Catherine "Fern" Vernia

Catherine €œFern€ Vernia, 85, of Robinson, IL, died at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the North Logan Health Care, Danville, IL. She was born October 29, 1925 in Robinson, IL, the daughter of Henry McIntosh and Kate Hopper McIntosh. She was a homemaker and attended the Trimble Baptist Church, Trimble, IL.Fern married John Vernia November 15, 1945 and he preceded her in death on July 3, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 5 brother, Henry Jr, LeRoy, William, Benjamin, and Andrew McIntosh; and 2 sisters, Alice Frederick and Ellen Richardson.Fern is survived by 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Janice Vernia, Carmel, IN, George and Carol Vernia, Danville, IL, Richard and Rosie Vernia, Oblong; 5 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her sister, Elsie Jane Smith; and her brother, John McIntosh.Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Robinson with Pastor David Hyde. Burial will be in the Kirk Chapel Cemetery, rural Robinson. Visitation will be held from 5:00 €“ 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 7th at the funeral home.
