Cassie M. Pinkston of York, IL passed away on October 28, 2024 at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute, IN, just one day shy of her 90th birthday.
She was born on October 29, 1934, in rural West Union, IL, to Flora Z. & James L. Ferguson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Union, where she taught Sunday School and had a special interest in missions.
As a registered nurse, she worked at the Paris Hospital, Robinson Correctional Center, and Lincolnland Home Care. She also worked as an EMT for several years. In retirement, she was a hospice volunteer for Sarah Bush Lincoln.
Cassie is survived by her sons, Paul (Georgeanne) Pinkston of York, IL, and Jim (Carol) Pinkston of Corinth, MS; her daughter, Cheryl (Paul) Cribelar of Martinsville, IL; as well as her grandchildren, Ryan (Kimberly) Pinkston, Jon (Courtney) Pinkston, Jordan (Shannon) Pinkston, Joshua (Elexa) Cribelar, and Cara (Abe) Huffington. She was also blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Addison, Grayson, Mae, Annie, Jad, Rhodes, Graham, Rylee, Isla, and Evie. Cassie is additionally survived by her sister, Wanda Nagel of Lockport, IL, along with several nieces, nephews, step-children, and step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Howard Pinkston, Lee Pinkston, and Richard Newlin; her daughter, Charlotte Ann Pinkston; her grandson, Dustin Pinkston; her nephews, Ron Nagel, Jr., Jimmy Nagel, Michael Reynolds, and Jacob Nagel; her sister, Ann Newburn; and her brother-in-law, Ron Nagel, Sr.
A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1st, at the Prust-Hosch Funeral Home in West Union, IL. A funeral service will immediately follow and be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, with Steve Dolson, Pastor Art Orndorff, and Dr. Randy Bostick officiating. Burial will be in the York Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the "West Union First Baptist Church", and memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
