Carolyn Sue Lipe

Carolyn Sue Haught Lipe, 63, of Newton, IL., died at 1:30 p.m. (E.S.T.) Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, IN. She was born July 28, 1944 in Olney, IL, the daughter of Forrest Francis Long and Rosemary E. Greenwood Long. She was a homemaker and a past member of the Palestine Jr. Women’s Club, Palestine, the St. Thomas Catholic Church, Newton and the Jasper Artisan’s Club, Newton.She married Richard Allen Haught July 27, 1963 and he preceded her in death on April 27, 1993. She married Harold Lipe July 21, 1996 and he preceded her in death on June 2, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her father.She is survived by 2 daughters and her son-in-law, Donna and Kevin Blevins, Palestine and Sharon Kay Haught, Armonk, NY; 2 sons, Richard Allen Haught, Jr., Albion, and Brian Dean Haught, Buhl, ID; 3 grandchildren; her brother and sister-in-law, Roy G. and Linda Long, Altamont; and her mother, Rosemary Souden, Altamont.Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2008 at the Goodwine Funeral Home, Palestine with Pastor Kevin Wyckoff officiating. Burial will be in the Hardinville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. preceding the services on Saturday. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Good Samaritan Cancer Pavilion with envelopes available at the funeral home.
