Carolyn Sue Jenkins

Carolyn Sue Jenkins, 61, of Palestine died at 3:59 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at her home. She was born June 10, 1949 in Sullivan, IN, the daughter of Charles and Joyce Werderman Connor. She attended Vincennes University and received her LPN certification. She then attended Olney Central College, where she obtained her degree as a Registered Nurse. She received her Masters degree in Nursing at SIU-Edwardsville. She was head nurse at KCRC in Vincennes and was a substitute teacher at both Palestine High School and Oblong High School.She married Ronald Jenkins on September 20, 2002 and he survives. She is also survived by her son and daughter-in-law Jason L. and Celena Orr, Palestine; her daughter, Amanda McKechnie, San Diego, California; her grandchildren Jonathan Hannah Orr, Indianapolis, IN; her step-daughter, Malissa Jenkins, Mattoon; step-grandchildren, Talia Jade, Andrew, and Skylar; 3 step-granddaughters, Savannah and Crisney Sheppard, Kearra Hall all of Medaryville, IN; her brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Vicky Connor, Vincennes, IN; her sister, Charlene Kimmel, Sullivan, IN; and her mother-in-law, Marjorie Jenkins, Palestine. She was preceded in death by her parents.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 30th at Oak Grove Cemetery, rural Palestine. Her brother, Ralph Connor will be officiating. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine is in charge of services.
