Carmen Jennifer Jones

February 9, 1976 — April 27, 2021

Carmen Jennifer Jones, 45, of Robinson, IL, died unexpectedly on April 27, 2021, at her "home away from home" in Florida. She was born February 9, 1976, in Aurora, CO, the daughter of Charles Brimberry II & Robin (Crouch) Venatta. She grew up all over but considered Palestine, IL, to be her home. It was here that she graduated from high school as a member of the PHS Class of 1994. She furthered her education at Lincoln Trail College and Indiana Business College, where she earned a degree in accounting. Though she worked for a number of businesses, the Hollywood in Robinson was where she made the most significant impact. The establishment's regulars will long cherish her beautiful smile and the many conversations they shared. In fact, Carmen was known to strike up a dialogue with anyone and everyone, wherever she was! Though this made public outings a lengthy affair, the relationships she formed through these interactions speak for themselves and have cemented her legacy in the hearts of all who were fortunate to call her "friend". Time at home often found Carmen perusing Pinterest, looking for her next crafting project. She was an avid gardener as well and found great satisfaction in tending to her tiger lilies. Though she had a green thumb, her talent was even more evident in the kitchen. Her kids and grandkids could never forget her homemade cooking, seeing as no one could whip up a crockpot pizza or chicken alfredo quite like she could. Her skill with the grill made summers at her house a delight. Though the food was more than satisfying, it was the love around the table that she valued most of all. Nothing brought more life to her living than spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who had each become the apple of her eye. Though she could be more than a little "crazy" at times, it was evident that she loved and cared from the very depths of her soul. The fact that she left behind a place that cannot be filled is a high tribute to Carmen. Today we recognize that life can be the same after a trinket has been lost, but never after the loss of a treasure. Left behind to mourn her passing are her three children, Britney Montgomery, Coltin Woods, and Garret Woods; grandchildren, Jamison Montgomery, Haven Woods, Jaxon Montgomery, Everett Woods, (with one on the way); siblings, Chastity & Toby Inboden, Charles Brimberry III & Erica Kraemer, Sunday Dawn & John Stambaugh; several nieces, nephews, and extended family members; as well as her boyfriend, Monty Joe Dart. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; her father, Charles Brimberry II; her mother & step-father, Robin & David Venatta; and her nephew, Jerald Lovellette. Private family services will be held at a later date. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of local arrangements. Memorials may be made to her memorial fund, with checks made payable to "Goodwine Funeral Homes".
