Carl E. Robinson

Carl E. Robinson, 75, of Robinson, IL, died at 2:15 p.m., Friday, May 7, 2010 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson. He was born on September 14, 1934 in Lawrenceville, the son of Lyle and Mildred Inez Ready Robinson. He was a funeral director and worked at Goodwine Funeral Homes for over 30 years. He was a Past Master and member of the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge #136, a member of the Danville Consistory, the Ainad Shrine of East St. Louis, and a member of the Crawford County Shrine Club. Carl was a member of the Highland Church of Christ of Robinson, a past president and member of the Palestine Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Flat Rock American Legion Post #132.He married Donna Sue Burrell and she survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Karen Lachenmayr, Robinson; his grandson, Chance Neidigh and Ciara, a great granddaughter, Olivia Neidigh; his sister and brother-in-law, Clare and Len Krause, Ocala, FL; a brother-in-law, Pete Mitchell, Robinson; a sister-in-law, Marles Burrell, Dyer, IN; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Pat Mitchell and Mary Alice Davis.Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Highland Church of Christ in Robinson. Pastors Mark Mitchell, Mont Mitchell, and Shane Bopp are in charge of services. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville City Cemetery, Lawrenceville, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11th at the Highland Church of Christ, and from 8:00 a.m. and until service time on Wednesday. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday by the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge #348. The Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson is in charge of services.Memorials may be made to Pine Haven Ranch or to the Oblong Children€™s Home.
