Byron Leslie Cline, 89, of Paris, Illinois, formerly of Kansas, Illinois, passed away at 1:17 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at Paris Community Hospital. He was retired after a lifetime of farming. He was born March 27, 1928, in Hume, Illinois, the son of the late Charles Leslie and Ruth (Simpson) Cline. He married Ida Jeane Lovell on May 18, 1949, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Paris, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Cunningham and Carla (Daniel) Roberts both of Paris; two sisters, Eloise Cline of Normal, Illinois, and Jane (Jim) Goodwine of Palestine, Illinois; seven grandchildren, Jimi Cunningham, Colleen (Brian) Feldman, Kim Cunningham, Brett (Angel) Roberts, Jennifer (Brian) Henning, Brant (Michelle) Roberts, and Brian Redden (Elisabeth Brown); twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, June DeVoss, and a son-in-law, Jim Cunningham. Mr. Cline was a graduate of Kansas High School. He enjoyed horseshoes, bowling, and golf. For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to a charity of the donor's choice. SERVICE INFORMATION Services celebrating his life will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, at Templeton Funeral Home in Paris. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Kansas.
