Brendan Paul Grimm, age 89, passed away on June 26, 2022, with family by his side. He was born on March 14, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Michael and Mary Grimm. Brendan has 1 sister Eunice Weixel of Rockville, MD. Brendan was a wonderful father, husband, and a devout Catholic (3rd degree Knight of Columbus).
Brendan served in the Korean War and graduated from Duquesne University on the GI Bill. On June 7, 1958, Brendan married the love of his life Barbara Mae (Hauck), and she survives. Brendan and Barbara had 4 sons Matt (Lynn Clary), Mark (Cindy Hollingsworth), John (Danielle Endicott), and Tom (Cindy Barnett). Brendan and Barbara are also blessed by 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Brendan worked in the retail business for several years as a manager of Kresge's and Kmart in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Ohio. He and his family settled in Robinson in 1971, where he was the manager of Tresslars Dept. Store for many years. After a brief stint with the Robinson Daily News, Brendan worked as an operator at the Marathon refinery until he retired in 1995.
Brendan and Barbara moved to Bokeelia, FL, after retirement and enjoyed 23 years in the Sunshine State until returning to Robinson in 2018.
Brendan enjoyed spending time with and watching his family grow. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting and following the Pittsburgh sports teams. He spent many hours "schooling" folks in the card game, Euchre.
A memorial mass will be held on July 16 at 10 am at St Elizabeth Catholic Church with the Rev David Beagles officiating, followed by an interment in the Robinson New Cemetery. Following the interment, a buffet & fellowship will continue the Celebration of Brendan's life at the St. Elizabeth Parish Center from 12 - 2 pm. Please join us. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, Brendan's family asks that you consider a donation to the "Robinson City Parks Dept". Envelopes will be available at both the church and the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson, which is in charge of arrangements.
He enjoyed a full life of service to his faith, family, and country. Brendan was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. What a guy! Prosit Bren!
