Brenda Lynn Decker

Brenda Lynn Decker, 67, of Flat Rock, IL, passed away on March 12, 2022. Brenda was born on October 23, 1954, in Portsmouth, VA, the daughter of Vendall & Wanda (Hall) Kamplain, both of whom preceded her in death. She married the love of her life, Von Dale Decker, on October 28, 1972, in Robinson, IL. He survives. She is also survived by her two daughters, Stacy Lynn Decker (Fairview Heights, IL) and Deanna May Woodworth (Robinson, IL), and one son, Vincent Dwayne & Monica Nadine Decker (Flat Rock, IL); brother, Dale Oren & Debbie Kamplain (Robinson, IL); six grandchildren, Kolton Blake and Corbin Dwayne Decker, Brooklynn Paige Lingle, Skylar Kade and Baylee Ann Harmon, and James (Jay) Spencer Woodworth V.

Brenda worked for 35 years as a rural mail carrier, starting in Flat Rock before transferring to Lawrenceville, IL, where she retired.

Brenda was the matriarch of her family, fiercely loving and taking care of her husband, kids, and grandchildren. She could always be counted on for help anytime she was asked. Running to all of her grandchildren's events meant the world to her.

After retirement, she stayed physically active, joining in on bike rides with her friends, "The Biker Chicks". Brenda's true love was pickleball. She played multiple times a week through all of the seasons. But what she loved more were the people she played with. They held a special place in her heart.

A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16th, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Flat Rock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 17th, at the funeral home, with Pastor J.D. Branson officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery, rural Flat Rock, IL, following the funeral.
