Brandi Nicole Deckard, 20 of Palestine, IL, died at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at Crawford Memorial Hospital in Robinson, IL as a result of a ATV accident in Robinson. She was born September 6, 1987, the daughter of Glenn Deckard, and Pamela R. (Kirk) Adkins. She is survived by her father, Glenn Deckard, Palestine; her mother and step father, Pamela R. (Kirk) Adkins and Richard L. Adkins, Rittman, OH; 2 step brothers, Richard L. Adkins II and Matthew P. Adkins, Orlando, FL; her grandparents, Betty A. (Worthy) Deckard, Oblong, Keith D. Kirk and Beverly A. (Vaughn) Kirk, Oblong; 3 uncles and their spouses, Carl and Peggy Deckard, Palestine, Joe and Penny Deckard, Robinson, Kevin Deckard, Robinson; 4 aunts and their spouses, Brenda (Deckard) and Harry Hillegas, Canal Fulton, OH, Marsha (Deckard) and Rich Cravens, Robinson, Kim (Kirk) and Terry McCleave, Oblong, Kara (Wesley) Kirk, Flat Rock; several cousins and many friends in Ohio and Illinois.She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Gilbert A. Deckard; and 2 uncles, Anthony “Tony” S. Kirk and Lance E. Kirk.Brandi was loved deeply by many and will be greatly missed. She enjoyed dancing, figure-skating, drawing, painting, 4 wheeler riding, and horse-back riding. She was fascinated with ocean life and her dream was to go to Florida State University to major in Marine Biology and/or Oceanography. She knew and loved God. She is now at peace with him and we all look forward to being with her again some day.A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 6th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. Burial will follow in the Palestine Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross or to the Crawford County Humane Society.A second memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, October 11, 2007 at the 7th Adventist Church, Waterloo Rd, Akron, OH with Beth Tikkun Congregant Leader Brant Luton officiating. Memorials may be made to the Christian Childrens Home of Ohio, 2685 Armstrong Rd, Wooster, OH. 44691.
