Brady "Bj" Mccammon

January 14, 1972 — February 21, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brady J (BJ) McCammon, a beloved father, husband, grandfather, and friend, who left this world on February 21, 2025, at the age of 53. BJ lived his life with passion, laughter, and a love for adventure that touched everyone he met.

A true dirt track racing enthusiast, BJ found peace and excitement in the roar of the engines, the thrill of competition, and the camaraderie of fellow racers. He spent countless hours at the racetrack, cheering and assisting his fellow drivers, and even getting behind the wheel and riding the cush. His love for racing was matched only by his enthusiasm for sports. Whether it was playing a round of golf, watching the big game, or tossing a ball around with his kids, he was always ready to share in the joy and excitement that sports bring. He combined his passion for sports and working with children by seizing every opportunity to coach youth sports teams, whether in baseball, basketball, or softball.

Above all, BJ was a devoted family man. He was so proud of his big, beautiful, blended family that he had created, and he never missed a chance to brag on them! His passion for his family knew no bounds, and he made sure that everyone knew just how much they meant to him. He took pride in being a father, always there with words of encouragement, advice, or just a good laugh or playful banter when it was needed most. His children and grandchildren were his greatest treasures, and his love for them was evident in every moment he shared with them.

Gifted with the gift of gab, BJ never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, turning a chance encounter into a lasting friendship. His stories were legendary, often filled with humor, wisdom, and a touch of mischief. He had a way of making everyone feel like they mattered, and his infectious zest for life was a joy to be around.

In the years that BJ was with us, he taught us all the value of living life to the fullest, of laughing often, and of loving deeply. He leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories, love, and a reminder to always take a moment to enjoy the ride.

BJ is survived by his parents, Doug & Sheila McCammon; his wife, Ashley Prosser; his children, Chaney Burmeister, Lexie McCammon, Holden McCammon, Evey McCammon, Graedyn Prosser, Gianna Prosser, Lainey McCammon, Rhett McCammon; and grandchildren, Stella Burmeister, Krue Burmeister. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, by his special friends, Henry Rains, Logan Seaney, and all the athletes of the Olney Little League Challenger Division for Special Needs.

A time of visitation will be held from 12:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 1st, at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a benefit account for his children, with checks payable to the "Brady J. McCammon Children's Donation Fund," Shriners Children's Hospital for NF Research or to honor his passion for foster care, autism awareness, and special needs advocacy, contributions to related organizations are also appreciated.

We will miss his laughter, his stories, and his boundless love. Rest in peace, Dad. You will forever be in our hearts, and your memory will live on every time we hear the roar of an engine or take part in a game.
